Printing quality on this printers is great, yet there are some trouble with older printheads.
You should follow this in order to fix the problem: - Remove both ink cartridges - Remove printhead (press release button on the inner left corner of the printhead, above where the black ink cartridge goes) - Close the cover and wait until it tells you that the printhead is missing. When it does, open the cover again and place the printhead inside (put it in and press towards the back of the printer, make sure it makes a loud snap). - place both ink cartridges in If the printer says "press start to copy", press the menu button and select calibrate printer, and then select "print calibration sheet". If it just tells you that there is a new printhead detected and calibration is requiered, follow the instructions it will give you.
Once you calibrate the printer, - Press menu, scroll down to "clean printhead" and select "deep clean"
Once that is completed, go ahead and print.
If it is still not working, you got a defective printhead and you need to replace it. You will need to go to kodak.com/go/itg for additionl troubleshooting and the replacing of your printhead, or you should just call 1 800 421 6699 and have then replace the printhead for you. This is free of charge.
What your printer manufacturer calls calibrate is a test that draws small black lines on a piece of paper, in 5 different instances. You pick the number that looks the straightest. But i installed a 50$ HP deskjet this week that i didn't calibrate and it prints just perfect. _Your Q where is the toolbox is the printer software that is on your computer that is used tell how much ink level is in the cartridges etc. print test pages...on XP click START.....click Control Panel...... click PRINTERS........open the printer properties for the installed printer then just start looking around
K...Trust the solution. Try these steps. Open the printer, remove the ink and remove the printhead (See User's guide). Reseat the printhead and the ink cartridges. The printer will come up with an error message that requires calibration. Do the calibration and scan the sheet that prints right after by pushing the start button. In the menu options, clean the printhead. Do one basic and one deep. Print a demo sheet (another menu option) to see if the quality has gotten better. If it has not call Kodak AiO Tech support. You will need a replacement printhead.

Hello, you can print a calibration sheet from the front panel of the printer. Hit menu on the panel of the printer and scroll down to calibration printer and hit ok. Then hit ok on print calibration page and it should proceed to print a calibration page. After it is done printing, it will tell you to scan the calibration sheet.
