MP830 PGBK does not print, tried new cartridges

MP830 PGBK does not print, tried new cartridges and usual cleaning etc, nothing. Bought new print head but still does not print. Other colours Bk,Y,M,C all ok. Have tried 'Auto Alignment' but this fails because nothing is being printed. Help!

the printer won't print copy scan We've chleaned the printer heads

The resulting file sizes when scanning to PDF on an MP830 are very large - 500KB+ for one A4 sheet....
