-   I have a GE Toaster Oven (10 years old). The electrical wire from the uint to receptacle gets hot. I would like to replace it. I do not know how to open the base (wire end in the unit). The base is plastic piece that is two inches long. Can you help me? Thanks
I would make sure the cord doesn't get too close to the back of the oven. Make sure it has room between the oven and wall and isn't trapped under it or direct heat.
I had my cord get squeezed between the machine and the wall and my cord melted.
