freezer door pops open (and closes) when I shut the fridge door.
I have the same problem

My E521 does this too - it's because there is an air duct between the 2 compartments. That duct allows the fans to move air about.

I agree you'd think the freezer should remain shut at all times unless you really need to be in there

the reason the door opens is probably caused by a broken door closing bearing located on the underside of the door that opens. A quick visual check of the hinge side of both doors will show you what I mean
