I'm having this issue as well. Convection works fine for about five to six minutes, then it suddenly just stops. I can immediately start it back up again, and it will run for a short time then stop again. Basically, it stops working right around the time it gets preheated.

It's pretty much impossible to use the convection feature since this started. I'd really like to find a solution.

I've got this problem, too. The microwave is fine, but the oven function stops after exactly 4' 66" every time.

I have this microwave/convection R930 AK that I purchased just over 1 yrs ago - I had an issue with the convection part of the oven just stopped heating up--I had a pizza in thereon 420 for 90 mins and it bearly got warm. The service man from Sharp came out - turned it on and of course it worked--He just pulled it out about an inch from the back of the Micromate it is installed in. It has been working fine until yesterday--Again I had a pizza in there and it did not cook. I turned the microwave off and back on as instructed by Sharp Cust service - and it did not work. I put an oven thermometer in the unit and set it to pre heat to 425. When it beeped that it was ready, the thermometer read 100 degrees. I then had it "cook " some choc chip cookies - on 425 for 15 mins and te thermometer only went up to 200 degrees. I did call again for service saying tht the issue strarted back at that 1st call in July but was not addressed as a failng part at that time so now I have to pay for another service call (the 1st one was covered) plus the parts-This does not seem fair but was hoping there is a precident of this happening to others? I am annoyed that this has gone bad after 54 weeks of use - My other Sharp units lasted for many many years so this is a shock that after 1 year its having issues...any suggestions? Thanks

This almost certainly a bad thermistor. It may be open due to corrosion, or its resistance has dropped due to caked grease and / or carbon deposits.

The part number is FH-HZA041WRE0 and the best place to order Sharp parts is Tritronics.

We actually have the service manual for this model and have uploaded it to our site here to help you.

You will need the free Adobe Reader to view or print it.

Hi ..Our Microwave stopped working. It is a GE Microwave- Convection Oven in wall combo with control panels for both ovens shared. Convection oven works fine. Microwave has no is dead. ...

There is often a fuse and a magnetron thermal fuse or thermostat.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Convection oven problem

Most of the time the magnetron is defective if the food is not heating up.
In some cases there is a defective low power transformer or other componenents associated with the magnetron.
I would suggest to check the owners manual under the warranty section. Sometimes the magnetron has 5 years warranty.
Good Luck.
