Question about Sony KP-57HW40 57" Rear Projection Television

Black Screen with vertical lines down the side?

I have a Sony Kphw40 model tv. recently the screen was all red and i took it into the shop. they called back and said nothing was wrong except the color settings in the menu. after I turned it on at home it worked fine. then after the tv was turned off and turned back on the screen is all messed up. It is now black in the middle with a 1/2 inch vertical blue line, an inch vertical turquoise line, and then a 6" white vertical line on the left side. on the right side of the black is a red then a yellow line, the same size as the other ones and then more white, and a little purple vertical line and a vertical blue line on the very edge of the screen. the on screen menu still works but it is a triple image of all the colors. i can change channels but the image never changes, and i can still hear all the audio. please help.

Tv flat screen only half the screen works rest is black

This is casued by the buffer boards on the right or left edge of the plasma tv. You need a direct replacement for the top buffer and then your picture will return!

Permanent Vertical Line on my Sony Bravia 46 inch LCD TV

What you're describing is usually the result of an improperly seated connector. With the power disconnected, open the tv and locate any connectors between the LCD screen and the driver circuit board. Unplug them, and reconnect it assuring it's properly and firmly seated. Be careful when handling these cables as they tend to be quite fragile... take your time.

Vertical red lines on screen

LCD correct?

There are 2 types of lines they may be showing, both requiring the replacement of the LCD Panel.

1. Delamination Lines- they are usually multiple vertical lines that do NOT flow from the top to bottom of the screen. Looks look water dripped down or something similar

2. Single/Multiple Vertical lines - This is normally 1 or maybe a few solid vertical lines that travel from Top to bottom. I belive in some cases they may only travel to the screen center.

In both cases, this will always show when the TV is ON. Even if there is no signal being input to the TV. There are other possibilities but these can be the most common. Both require a new panel.

46 inch Sony flat panel lcd has vertical red and green lines down right side of screen and you can be watching tv and picture will go right out and leave grayish blank screen until restart. Black...

If the screen works for a short while and then completely fails once the TV warms up you have a problem with the main unit video board or the LCD control logic board. Most often if the picture cuts out but audio continues to work the logic board is over heating and should be replaced. However if the picture cuts out and audio shuts off as well then its your video input board.
