I have a GE side by side (TFX25JRYAWW) and it is 13 years old. It seems the fan will work sometimes. If it is stopped and I spin it, then it will continue to work and spin for a couple of weeks. I've read a lot of other similar problems, but I don't know if it the problem is the fan or the circuit board that controls the fan. Suggestions please! :-)

before replacing fan remove and oil shaft lightly and work blade back and forth this may extend the fan life the bearings are probably worn or dry if fan still stiff upon turning replace

If you can start it by turning it manually, and it starts, then the only obvious solution is replacing the motor, since it's obvious power is getting to the motor, and if so should start on it's own.
