My presario SR1920NX gradually slowed down to a dead stop and finally I had to pull the plug to shut it off. Now it won't boot up Windows XP. I've tried booting it up in all start up modes except the recovery mode. When it trys to boot up it goes through a normal cycle until I get a momentary blue flash on the monitor at which point it starts the start up routine all over again. I have a feeling it has to do with the Bell Canada Security system I recently installed.Any suggestions? Jim G.
You more than likely will have to reformat due to a corrupt system...I would try first going into safemode (unless i misunderstood ) and to to start, run type "msconfig" and then go to startup tab....uncheck anything you just installed....caution: if you dont know what it is is...windows/system then dontuncheck it because that will actually cause the error you describe. Or try un-installing what you recently install in safemode. if you cant access safemode then use the recovery mode to recover the system files...usually the computer will ask for the windows XP cd. good luck...hope this helps
