One way is to lock your saw blade into a vise and remove the blade retainer. I am not sure if you have a bolt or some other type of retainer. Whichever it is you always turn in the direction of the blade turn to remove. Any question please post back.

Circular saw locking bolt turns spindle

There is a button on the saw that holds the shaft still. Unplug the saw and put light pressure on this button while you slowly turn thr blade by hand. When it gets to the hole, the button will drop into the shaft. Keep it pressed down and unbolt the nut.

PKS18LI cant find spindle locking button

Look behind the angle adjustment on the front of the saw. It's a little black button to push in towards the motor. Remove the battery first and then rotate the blade until you feel the button lock in and secure the blade/armature.

Where is the blade lock for CRAFTSMAN 315.10951

I've had this same circular saw since new (the 80's). There is not a spindle lock. The bolt turns clock-wise to tighten. I usually hold the blade with a gloved hand and snug up the bolt. It will tighten when in use. When removing the blade, one can place a block of wood between two teeth to lock it in place.

How do u put on a saw blade for a cordless circular saw.???

First remove the battery, next make sure of the blade rotation and remove the hex bolt and OUTER flange lift the guard and put the blade on the spindle. Reinstall the outer flange and tighten the hex bolt, generally newer saws have a spindle lock to hold spindle to tighten the blade. If this is a Porter Cable like in the header you can go to dewaltservicenet.com and with your model and type number find an operators manual. Let me know if you need more assistance.

How do u remove the blade on a chop saw ls1013

Be sure the saw is switched off and unplugged. Use the Makita socket wrench on the side of the saw base if you still have it. If not make sure you use a socket or wrench that fits the bolts properly so you get them off and back on without damaging them. Lock the handle in the up position with the stopper pin. Loosen the hex bolt holding the center cover in place, this will let you raise the guard and center cover so you can get at the blade bolt. There is a button on the back side of the blade guard that locks the spindle. Push and hold the button in and turn the blade until it locks in place. Using the socket wrench, turn the blade bolt clockwise or in the same direction the blade turns while cutting to remove it, the outer flange and blade. Put the new blade on (check that the direction of the arrow on the blade is the same as on the guard), the outer flange and blade bolt. Use the spindle lock to get the bolt on tight. Return the center cover to it's original position and tighten it's hex bolt. Turn the blade by hand to make sure the spindle lock released then pull the stopper pin and make sure the blade guard works properly.

How to engage spindle lock?

The spindle lock should be a short rod that sticks out on the motor side of the saw. Push this in and rotate the blade until the rod pushes in and locks the spindle. This will hold it tight so you can use a wrench on the nut that holds the blade on.
