the garmin turns on to the garmin screen then shuts off. we tryed to go to the set up mode with no response.thanks jenma

I have the same problem

Just got the Garmin nuvi 200W series for Christmas. I used it for a total of approx. an hour when I started getting a low battery signal. Now when I try to turn it on it shows the name Garmin, searching for maps and then shuts off.

Yes be sure your battery is full charge, go on the GARMIN web site and do an update.

Install the web updater from GARMIN.

If you have a battery low its normal. You did not mentionned into your comments that you had try a charge. I can not assume but i hope you did.

No problem with the battery was reported from GARMIN at this time. Everything is reporting fine by many others users.

Check to make sure your cigarette lighter is working. I had the same problem and the fuse for my cigatette lighter was blown out. I changed the fuse and it works fine now.
