with a creative zen v plus, it's gonna take a little time and some prying, but it's fairly easy. First, snap off the bottom piece where the play and return buttons are. underneath should be the contrast color piece. then, take a small screwdriver and carefully remove that contrast piece. it should snap off. when that's off, the top will look the same but you should be able to see the motherboard. In the right corner there's one screw you'll have to take out to get to the battery. but first, the screen. this is where the prying starts. you need to get underneath a little all the way around, and pry it off bit by bit. it took me about ten-fifteen minutes to get the screen loose without damaging it. it's still attached, but when you lift it you'll be able to get at the second screw. once both screws are loosened you'll be able to lift up the motherboard and screen to get at the battery. the volume control cover piece just falls out but just replace it before you put the screen down again. the battery is stuck down, but just disconnect it from the motherboard (there's a little white plug ) and pull it off. replace the battery, and when you put the motherboard back in, lift the screen a little so the usb port, line-in, and headphone jack can slide into the holes. replace the screws, press down the screen, and snap the contrast and cover pieces back in. you're done. i don't recommend doing this too often, as the screen will become really loose. be really careful, and make sure not to hit anything with the screwdriver. good luck!
