My laptop dosent accpet any sound driver - Compaq Presario 700 470024-192 Notebook

have you try to set the setting of your speaker laptop?
try to configure the sounds of your laptop first.

vista and windows 7 took sound driver by default this work partially download driver for sound from compaq site for full funtion mic dosent work without proper driver.

It all depends what Intel model number is printed on you're motherboard. Once you find the model number open the link provided by Intel; http://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx
Type the model number into the Search downloads window. If you have access to the internet open the link above and click: Run Intel Driver Update Utility.
Intel will search you're system and find any out dated driver within you're system. You will be able to install any missing drivers.

download and install manufacturer audio drivers: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/homeLenovo.do
or install realtek audio drivers:
http://www.realtek.com/downloads/

ok switch on computer goto start/control/sytem/ device-maneger/goto/sound vidio and game control/ right mouse click and update driver/ make sure you are on the internet
if this dosent work / get model number from underneath laptop/
and name /type the into google and see if you can locate audio drivers /for that modle then download and activate /// hope this helps u

Check to make sure that you have the proper drivers installed. Go to your manufactures website or install Driver Detective and let it detect your proper drivers. Just for extra about this problem. What is the make, model of the laptop?

have you tried going to the control panel and under sounds and audio devices and under the voice tab make sure nothing is muted or something like that? does it only not work on the yahoo program? you can see if it is working in other stuff by going to the sound recorder in start menu - all programs - accessories - entertainment - sound recorder

if its says that "no audio d3evice found " then your laptop's audio drivers are missing
try driver disk
and reinstall audio drivers(sound card driver)
and this will re install your audio driver and your laptop can recognise sound card

I had the same problem  took  me two days to find the solution


1st  u will have to  install the driver chipset....

after that the   audio driver  will install 

the drivers  which u have searched will work

but only after the chipset is installed

Magzi, please post the model number of the Thinkpad. Otherwise download the drivers straight from the website.
