Projection TV makers charge an arm and a leg for their replacement lamps. They make it easy to do but as a result the custom lamp assy is expensive. The trick is to just buy the bulb for your model TV from any number of us aftermarket sources at a fraction of the lamp price (less than $200) and install it in the old lamp yourself. really easy.

Ok i had wrong info before. model number is M50WH72S. Now i turn it on the light blinks then goes off, does this a couple times then comes on with sound only for a couple of seconds then goes off. I used to hear the whinning/spinning noise now i don't hear anything. please help.
I have same thing on a HD50LPW42 Green light comes on then off Then sound come on.Then after two or three times.The lamp will come on .After warm up its OK. I do not think it is the lamp.Its before the lamp.When lamp gets power it is fine.
mine does the same thing..it blinks and does not turn on anymore.

I KNOW ITS NOT THE LIGHT BULB SINCE I HAD IT REPLACED...WHAT ELSE COULD IT BE? IT BLINKS 5 TIMES, PAUSES THEN TURNS OFF!!!
