probably its a read files error ..try to connect to a pc...and reformat the unit ...becareful to backup any files and give it a try ...anyway ..when those devices start to reading errors...they usually have much more damages than this ...but it worth trying .....( I understood that this is a mp3 usb device ...right??)

- if formatting does not work ...and the player worth the trouble ...try a firmware reinstalling ...it might been damaged by a bug or something ....this I say just in case its a expensive one from a good manufacturer and you really want it ...cause this is no easy operation ...Yes
