I use a disk with no problem but now I cannot budge the disk stem! Thanks

I have exactly the same problem with that model. It takes two of us, one holding it down on the floor and the other pulling, to get the disc stem off and today, so stuck was it,that it took three of us. I oiled the parts before inserting the disc stem, but to no avail. Very disappointed with this purchase.

Mine got stuck last night. If / when I get mine off, I plan on sanding down the spindle a few 0.001s".

I have had the same problem repeatedly. Kitchenaid has replaced the processor twice but it keeps happening - so stuck I cannot use the appliance.

Same problem - unfortunately I haven't managed to remove the disk stem yet, any suggestions? We've only had this processor a couple of months!

We had the same problem! I was bending a 18" pry bar and couldn't move it! Finally I tapped the spindle LIGHTLY and it broke loose and have had no more problems. I even bought $80 worth of replacement parts and did'nt use them. The serivce center sold me the parts but the Tech refused to talk me thru installing them.

My disc stem is stuck and will not come out.

Without careful use and care, there is a possibility that the disc stem can become fused with the motor shaft. If excess pressure is being applied to the slicing or shredding disc, this can cause immense friction and cause the plastic disc stem to "weld" onto the motor base itself.

I would suggest calling Kitchenaid Customer Service to see what options are available.

Their toll-free number is: 1-800-541-6390.

Disc stem stuck...can't pull it off.

Hey I had the same problem. This may sound primitive and stupid but it worked. Give the stem a good whack with a wooden spoon all the way around, it will come off.

Am I missing a part

I overlooked this too. Set into the foam packing material is a stem made just for the shredding disk. It's about 4" long and also has a hex shaft. This hex is just slightly smaller than the hex on the other shaft the drives the blades. The dough hook - Remove the blade assembly and put the dough hook in its place.

I am unable to remove the disc stem

There is no mechanism to lock the stem onto the base of the KFP750. It's just held on by gravity, so you're not missing anything simple!

It's possible that the soap dust got in there and glued in on. Take a blow dryer or very hot rag (use tongs!) to the stem to see if you can soften the soap, then pull up the stem.

Disc stem stuck

If you mean the post which the cutter thing connects to I have the same problem. I got out my jar of vaseling and smeared vaseline   in the hole after I pried the pole or disk out of the opening with a flat head screwdriver
a bit better   at least it comes out. Now if they would only make the post a tiny bit smaller at the top so the container comes off without a lot of effort,... Mine takes the post with it now that I have put the vaseline on it. good luck
