Hello! I have a sony DCR-TVR250. The camera seems to be working fine except when I attempt to play back any of several older 8mm format tapes. These are pre-recorded 'family' tapes and played fine several years ago when they were recorded (on another machine however) All I get is a blue screen on the display when the tape is 'playing'. New recordings both record and playback correctly. Am I missing something obvious (that would be nice) Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Jeff

C:31:23 keeps blinking and sounding a bleeping tone. Video portion is inoperable but memory works. I see the flat rate for repair is over $500 from Sony. It would be almost reasonable to just go get a new video camera rather than spend that much to fix the DCR-TRV30
