- i had that same problem u can try putting it on another pc and see if it registers and if not then i guess u have to wipe it or u can call best buy and see if they can give u an idea

- try this one.

try to download a hard disk recovery software ( I recommend EASEUS data recovery software)
try to download it first and install to your PC, after that use this software to recover the files the is in your flash drive, then after recovering the files, then that the time you try to reformat your flash drive

- just look or search the internet. EASEUS data recoverysoftware free download

once you were able to download the file, install it.

then there will be an icon on your desktop for EASEUS

just double click it to open the software

plug in your USB

Then on the page of your EASEUS search the drive where your USB is connected then double click it and choose recover files(all)

then click OK. this will ask you where you want to back the files, choose the folder where you want your files to be installed then proceed.

just follow instruction and it will guide thur the whole process

- if the recovery disk did not able to find or detect it, I am very sorry, but the only choice you had is to reformat or replace it with new one
