I have no power getting into my dvd recorder.

If you want to check this out yourself,then take off the outer casing and look for where the power cord becomes hard wired into the power supply board. Check the fuse that should be close to it with a multimeter in resistance scale and if it reads about .5 ohms then it's fine. If that's not the problem,look for swollen capacitors, very dark resistors,and any diodes on the board. Swollen caps will be bulging at the top usually,but they can leak from the bottom so take your time when you examine this. Diodes will read 0 (shorted) on a diode scale on a multimeter,and the resistors have a color value so make sure you dont mistake the value and replace off the bat.

If you not getting any indicator at all, then the power supply is dead, if you get some indicator light and that all it does, then the 5v standby voltage circuit is OK but not the main power section. Look for bad filter capacitors that will have bulging tops.
