Re: my n4prouter set up
Connect a computer to the router via Ethernet cable, then you should be
able to log into the router to set it up by opening a web
browser and putting "http://192.168.1.1/" or "http://192.168.0.1/"
(without the quotes) into the address line. The default username and
password is usually "admin" and "admin" or username "admin" with no
password. From there you should be able to configure the router and
retrieve or change the WEP key.

Router password is the password to access the router settings. SSID is the network name. When you try to connect to the wireless network on your laptop, you will see this network name. If your network is secured network then it will ask you for the network key or the password. You need to enter the ' security key '.
Are you trying to set up the router.
You can do it manually without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online through the modem.
If your computer is not able to go online through the modem then you will need to call ISP first.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem
then you need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.
HI! all your computer is connected except for one, you are connected to to the local network but cant get an internet connection, I dont see any problem with your wireless connection bcoz you are connected to the lan, check the security settings of your browser on your windows vista, go to internet option and security, lower it down to medium security, so that you can access the internet or try using other browser like firefox or google chrome.. check your firewall settings as well on your windows vista..
Connect using Lan Cable be sure to enable java on your Browser. Use ONLY IE: some router refuse other browser. SET your PC on a static IP address on SAME subnet as your router (but of course different IP). If subnet concept is NOT clear to just just ask here. When connected with router (on Lan Cable) check every setting (WPA-PSK) TKIP key, Broadcast / Channel etc. You can also disable every WLAN protection and restore it later. Activate WLAN connection WHEN you are STILL connected. Last but not least: SET your DNS IP address = your gateway IP (router)
First make sure wireless is turned ON or enabled on the computer, then use the View Available Networks to connect to the your SSID or network name. IF you can connect to router then you should be able to surf Internet.
isolate your problem. maybe it has something to do with your computer. try connection your pc directly to your modem. if it gets online there. the problem is with your router. try unplugging and replugging your router then restart your pc.
You will need to logon the router via the computer, and create a PPPOE internet connection. The user manual that came with the router will show you how to do this. If you do not have the manual. Do the following: open internet explorer in the address window type the IP of the router "example" http://192.168.2.1 your router IP should be on the bottom of the router. If not click start/run, type ipconfig at the > the router ip is listed at "default gateway". once you get to the routers logon page enter one of the following: username "leave blank" - username " admin " -or- username "admin" - password 1234. once logged on the router go to internet connections and select PPPOE enter the username and password provided by your ISP save the settings and you should make the internet connection now.
