Dell W2300 LCD TV Picture Problem

The picture on my Dell 23 inch LCD TV has developed a "flickering" problem with the display. Some static appears and the image is shaky or bouncy. You can see the image in background but because of the image flickering you can't do anything with the picture. Does anyone know what is causing the problem and how to fix it?

Your problem is due to intermittent power in the backlighting circuit. This is usually caused by swelling of electrolytic capacitors in the power board. If you can find an honest electronics technician it is about a $40.00 fix.

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.

Picture Problem!!!!

Sounds like the backlight isn't working.

Can you see a very faint picture? It might be so faint that you can only see it in certain lighting conditions.

Backlight problems are usualy caused by a faulty inverter board. I think you'll need to contact Dell as they can be funny about supplying spare parts.

If you can get a picture of the inverter board and post it, I might be able to locate a pattern board for you. The Inverter board has several flat transformers on it.

Be carefull, that board has some high voltages on it. Dont plug the set in while you have the back off.

Hope this helps
