All cd drives have a very small pinhole in the front where you can just poke something in and cd will release (I normally use a straightened out paperclip) . However with HP they like to use their own front cover plates which hides this. You will need to get inside the case unplug the drive and take it out to do this. Remember you dont need to have any power to the drive to remove the cd so make sure you have the power UNPLUGGED before you do this.
