Re: no ice

When you say freeze up on the back panel are you reffering to the back wall of the freezer side of the refrig if yes you can start by removing that same back panel there you should find what looks like snow this must be defrosted fully with a blow dryer make sure that the refrig is unplugged before you start. if you have an ohm meter this would help find the defrost heater its a glass rod w/a wire element passing through it it runs the width of the refrig freezer check for any signs of green corrosion the glass shouldd be see thru if its cloudy chances are its bad unplug it / them from their terminals put your ohm meter and see if its good if its bad replace both. if not i will check tomorrow to see if were on the same page

My icemaker stop working but the water dispenser still working I check both water lines from the filter its ok but can't check the freezer line by icemaker. turly don't know why the water will not flow...

If there is no ice in the ice mold of the ice maker, you can pour enough water in to make cubes, wait an hour or so for the icemaker to cycle.( freeze and dump the ice). If it does, then your water valve on the back of the refrigerator that the main water line hooks up to is bad. Replace it. The valve has two sides to it. An ice maker side and a water resevoir side. One side can be bad allowing the other to work.

If the ice maker does not cycle and dump the cubes then you probably have an ice maker problem.

LG ice maker only making two ice cubes at a time

Colenoid in the ice dispenser may be clogged or have a small amount of trash in it. Is there a filter on before the fridge (just after the ice maker shutoff)?

Ice dispenser will not switch back to cubed from crushed

Had the same problem, dispenser stuck on crushed ice, even when cubed ice is selected.  There is a magnetic switch behind the panel where the motor for the ice dispenser is.  It gets water in it and freezes so it is not free to go up and down.  It is always down for crushed, but for cubed ice, the magnet pulls it up.  when it's frozen with ice, all you'll get is crushed.  You'll have to defrost it.  You can defrost the whole freezer, but better to just remove the ice dispenser and defrost that. Three 1/4'' bolts hold secure it.  You'll have to unplug the wires from the back of the freezer to remove the unit. The just let it defrost and dry. You can remove the switch from the panel and dry it out too.   I've had to to this several times and am looking for a solution to keeping water out of the thing so it won't freeze again. Has anybody solved that?

Water line to water dispenser is freezing up inside the freezer

Try using an hairdryer or defrosting the unit completely , this often get rid of blockage caused by frozen lines fixing the problem.

The water lines can also be unblocked from dirt using a thin flexible shaft. This after defrosting.

If all that does not fix the problem, then you may need to replace the water valve, the icemaker solenoid, or the whole icemaker assembly.

Ice Maker Freezing Up and Ice not dispensing

Check your ice cube tray to see if it is warped. Mine was. I took the tray off and dipped it into boiling water and remoulded it to the original shape and re-installed it. So far no problems. The tray gets warped because of the ice cube release mechanism. The tray is rotated around until it meets a block on one corner which creates the twisting motion we used to do on manual trays. Over time it tends to warp the tray. Good luck
