If it has AV cable inputs or a tuner then yes,use a coaxial wire to tune of tv and to the "out" jack of the VCR or use "out" av jacks from VCR to av in of tv.

I want to hook up my CD-BA2100 to my Inspiron 6000 laptop but i don't know how to hook it up or what to use.

The SHARP CD-BA2100 is a "stand-alone" cassette/CD/AM/FM player.

Its manual states that it can accept left/right stereo audio output, such as from your laptop, if you purchase the correct adapter cable (from "line-out" or "head-phones-out" on your laptop):

Video/Auxiliary (Audio signal) input

To listen to or record signals from external sources through this unit:
1 Use a separately available RCA cord to connect the desired external unit to the VIDEO/AUX jacks. (red ® right channel, white ® left channel) * When using video equipment (Laser Disc player or VCR), be sure to connect the audio output to this unit, and the video output to a television.
2 Press the ON/STAND-BY button to turn the power on.
3 Press the VIDEO/AUX button.
4 Operate the external unit.
5 To record the sound from the external unit ...

i.e., you can use it as the speakers for your laptop, instead of the laptop's tiny, built-in, speakers.

My Dad has a HP Office Jet 4500 model G510 A-F and product # CQ662. He wants to know if he can use it as a stand alone as opposed to being hooked up to a computer? (he is 85 yrs old) He said everything...

This model has three series, usb only, usb with ethernet, usb and wireless. If the model you are using is wireless, you can use it as a stand alone machine but you'll need to set up the wireless connection with the computer. The best and the fastest is the Usb connection, so I would recommend you to connect it to the computer directly for best results and best functionality. I am sorry about the enlarging and minimizing, i couldn't understand very well with it. Well, you can get the manual here;

Good luck.

I have a technics sa-dx930 receiver and want to hook it up directly to the tv without running it through the dvd/vcr... How would I go about setting it up and what cables go where... Sorry woman here not...

It would help to know some details about tour TV - like its make and model. Or do you mean the CABLE BOX?

And there are TWO signals to consider - audio and video. WHICH is the one you need to hook up without involving the dvd/vcr?

Let's start with basics:

1) TV's are not audio sources. They are end-units for video and its medium-fi audio.

A TV's internal audio capacity is more a convenience for stand-alone listening than a serious approach at hi-end audio. Many of us have monitors with NO audio capability.

TV-related audio and video are best VIEWED via direct video connection to the TV; and HEARD through direct digital audio connection to the receiver.

2) The one NECESSARY connection you need from the receiver to the TV is the basic VIDEO that let's the receiver communicate with you through the TV.

Can I hook up direct tv cable services to this monitor?

No , that monitor doesn't have a tuner. You will need to buy a stand-alone one like

Stand Alone VCRs do not play pictures on my Insignia 24" TV

Did you try using teh SV cables supplied or the RF cable?
Easier to use the AV Cables. 100% should work. Connect Video OUT of VCR ro VIDEO IN of TV and AUDIO OUT (L) and (R) of VCR to AUDIO IN (L) & (R) of TV. Select AV or VIDEO on TV using TVs remote. Play a Cassette. should work!!

DVD PLAYS CD'S BUT WONT PLAY DVD'S

Aquarius0128 there are two things to consider here.. dvd's recorded on a computer need to be closed/finalized after you have recorded onto them in order to be used on a stand alone player.. they will play ok on original recorder because of the design of these machines finalizing prepares the structure of the disc so it can be recognised by other players as a dvd video disc.. you will usually see a 'finalize disc' option in your recording program

Second issue is this.. even if finalized an older (or even some modern) stand alone players will not recognise a recorded disc made on a computer or even if it can there are different formats DVD+R DVD-R and even DVD-RAM and DVD-RW (the two latter ones are rarely recognised outside a computer)
