Which tray are you using? I would print the odd number pages then load the paper with the odd pages already printed in tray 1 with the printed image side down. Additionally, if I remember correctly you can open up the rear of the printer and the printed pages will exit straight out the back instead of having to make another turn inside the machine. The straighter the paper path you provide, the less likely the paper will jam.

You need to try a thicker paper, Heavier stock to double print the page. Slightly more expensive. Recycled paper typically will not work for this type of function. I had this same problem and found this was the only solution.
