Question about Belkin Home Office UPS System

1 Answer

Belkin F6H650-USB My unit is 5 yrs. old.  The battery (BB BP7-12) is dead.  Should any of the warning lights on the unit still be coming on?  All of the lights are out.  I can replace the batt., but is the unit OK.  The other side of the unit still works.  Thanks: Steve

Re: Belkin F6H650-USB

If you did not take a lighting hit everything should be OK. Plug a light or another electircal device in to make sure each socket works. If not you have a problem I recommend to replace UPS. Your UPS should show a low battery LED. Here is a link for your manual for your model UPS. If you need any more help let me know?

If the device is over a few years old, then the batteries are probably dead. If so, they can be replaced. Below link shows some photos of the device once opened.

How long do batteries last

If they cannot hold the charge or do not charge then get rid of the thing and get a new one. Should be much cheaper than when you bought the one you have now.

What doies it mean if the unit turns itself off, resulting in a loss of power to my electronics?

Most likely your battery is dead in the UPS. Replace the battery if you can. Belkin should be able to help you with that.

No power whatsoever. no lights. I have it plugged in and hit the reset button but nothing. I have disconnected and reconnected the battery nothing. Is it possible the thing is dead?

Depending on how old it is, it is possible. You might want to check on replacement battery for it. It may be cheaper to replace the whole unit, I don't know, i haven't priced one lately. If you do replace the battery, be careful or have someone do it who has done it before.

Battery side of UPS beeps on and off when turn on.

How old are your batteries? If they are over 3 years old it may be telling you that its time to get new batteries. You can check these using a voltmeter too to help determine if the batteries are the problem. You can find replacements at

CP685AVR/BF685 Power Contro.

It is likely the battery. These batteries are designed to last 3-6 years in a UPS. The good news is that if it is the battery, it is completely user replaceable and you'll have a Cyber Power unit that works just like new with a new battery. What may have happened is that the battery was weak, and you may have had a slight dip in the AC power. This caused the Cyberpower unit to switch over to the weak battery which couldn't handle the load. The unit then turned off. When you press the "ON" button, the unit will go through a self-test that checks all of the components and the unit will not turn on and be functional unless all of the components come back with a PASS, including the battery. If possible, test the battery with a voltmeter, it should read around 13.5, but not lower than 11.5v DC. However, with the unit over 3 years old, it almost certainly the battery. Here's a link to a replacement battery for the CP685AVR:

Hope this helps.

My model FC6120-unv is dead

If you've got nothing my guess is its something more than the battery as it should still be able to draw power if its plugged in. If its within the warranty period (3 yrs, I believe). Go to the belkin webpage and to their ups support and start the process to return it and get it fixed/replaced. A couple months ago I had a F6C500-UNV that suddenly died on me just like yours - no nothing. It cost me $13.00 or so bucks to ship the broken unit to Belkin; a week or two later I got a brand spankin' new F6C550 or whatever they currently sell in that same voltage area back from them. The cost to RMA the broken unit was much cheaper than even buying a new battery for the old and now discontinued unit.
