When selecting "Get Picture" with scanner/camera highlighted; the "scanner/printer" and "my camera" are highlighted. However; when I select my camera the window jumps to my scanner/printer model; but, will not retreive from the digital camera binocular. Is the problem with the interface cable, software, camera or computer.

When I went to My Computer and selected digital camera a window open up and then another window which informed me to check camera connection and would not go any further. I have checked and rechecked the connection and the digital camera was still not recognized as being connected.

I have a Dell Dimension B110 with Windows XP Home Edition.
I have tried to find the Vivitar site but have not been able to locate it. All I get is companies selling Vivitar.
Thanks for your help. I will try the Best Buy Geek Squad.
I have an old win98 system. My daughter was given this camera for christmas. I get the same error message. " Cannot connect to camera"
I have uninstalled and reinstalled software several times. Tried everything I can think of. Is there another Camera driver anywhere? What am I missing? Other than a good PC. :)
My camera program says "cannot connect to camera". Have loaded software 4 times, and have tried turning on camera before connecting. Nothing seems to work. Help me!
This is simple digi cam
XP and above needs no driver
remove any software and let Windows do the work

With the camera connected and the upload control assessed[if there is
one]the Computer[assuming it is Windows ME/2000/XP/Vista] should put up
the Scanner/Camera Wizard and makes several suggestions to you. Tthe one
you want is to Save to Folder. Also look in my computer and you will see you have a new drive click on that and open it there should be your images.
If the memory is on a removable card, then perhaps a card reader may be a good investment.
Last but not least the manufacturers website Support pages may offer some help/

So far none of you have mentioned what operating system is used. Vista is know to have driver compatibilityproblems with all sorts od devices.
If it is other Windows operating system then the only solution can be from Vivitar check the web site to see if there are any solutions on offer. Finally if the Camera memory is on a removable card then invest in a multi card reader.
