IR works only if the unit is on. It will give you light in total darkness for up to some 50-80 yds. With any ambient light at all the IR is useless.

dont power this up in full day light or you will burn out the ccd pick up if you cant see anything through it i gess the tude has burnt out
its common for this to happen there life span is only about 1000 hours and much less if exposed to bright light, ie minuets!
