It sounds like it's going into protect. To be sure it's not the wiring, disconnect all speaker wires from it. If the light still goes out, check the DC voltage on the B+ and remote terminals. Place the black meter lead on the ground terminal of the amplifier. If the voltage remains above 11 volts as the amp tries to power up, the output transistors are almost certainly shorted causing the amp to go into protect.

SOURCE: Nirto bmw-486 Tech Specs

Generally, this type of amp is relatively simple to repair if you're capable of replacing the blown parts. If you can find the web site for Nitro, you may be able to get a schematic. I couldn't find their site.

What troubleshooting have you done?

What parts are blown?

If you need help troubleshooting, I'd need a photo of the inside of the amplifier.

I have 2 dvc 4 ohm alpine type r 15's and 2 svc american bass

Hi mate very nice amp you got there here is the specs for it

Model: MA Audio HK401SX
Hard Kore Series 1800 Watt 1 Channel High Performance Class X Car Amplifier
1 x 1800W RMS @ 0.5 Ohm Mono
1 x 1200W RMS @ 1 Ohm Mono
1 x 650W RMS @ 2 Ohm Mono
1 x 500W RMS @ 4 Ohm Mono
Fully Unregulated MOSFET Power Supply
2 Ohm Stable @ Mono
1 Ohm Stable @ Mono
0.5 Ohm Stable @ Mono

if you have 2 12s just bridge them and you will have 650wrms at 2ohm running to them or one sub at 4 ohm 500w rms ps they should pump iam running 2 12s with just 360rms at 2ohm and they do the job good luck

Blown channel

Its possible to repair, but you have to crack the amp open and prod around a bit. I found that the failure is usually in the power components or the MOSFET drivers. If you have 1 channel out, I would focus on the MOSFETS (if you dont know what they look like just Google MOSFET - they are the black 3-legged chips and are usually mounted to aluminum to disperse the heat). Some things to look for:
- burnt / melted solder traces (where the MOSFETS connect to the main board)
- disconnected leads (same place as above).

If you find any connection that looks suspicious, it wont hurt to re-melt the solder around the joint to make sure its a good connection.

Hope that helps...

Blown something found the problem just need to solve it !

Those black things are likely the MOSFET transistors (the bits that provide the amplification). They likely look similar to these.

Your problem may be deeper than just these units being blown - especially since there are 6 that are gone. Have you been overdriving the amp? Using speakers with the wrong impedence?

Anyway, you can try to see if they have the service manual. You could also try to source new mosfets from online retailers (eg digikey, - just read the numbers printed on them. You may also want to try to determine why they blew in the first place. I have fixed amps where one or two have gone bad because of being overdriven, but 6 makes me think that something else is wrong. Unless the am has a number of MOSFETs serving each channel. Eg, 3 MOSFETS per channel on a 2 channel amp..

Amp only runs on 1 channel til it is bridged tried 2 sets of rcas and still the same problem

Either the source isn't moving signal through stereo/both plugs, or the amp is damaged and will need repaired by an amplifier technician.
