Question about Car Amplifiers
Hi i have a sakyno 1800 watt ca-4060 4 channel mosfet amp which blew some sort of ic or chip it has this following number printed on it p1806 i am looking for a manual or someone that could tell me what this thing do as there are six of them and the one overheated and blew
It sounds like it's going into protect. To be sure it's not the wiring, disconnect all speaker wires from it. If the light still goes out, check the DC voltage on the B+ and remote terminals. Place the black meter lead on the ground terminal of the amplifier. If the voltage remains above 11 volts as the amp tries to power up, the output transistors are almost certainly shorted causing the amp to go into protect.

SOURCE: Nirto bmw-486 Tech Specs
Generally, this type of amp is relatively simple to repair if you're capable of replacing the blown parts. If you can find the web site for Nitro, you may be able to get a schematic. I couldn't find their site.
What troubleshooting have you done?
What parts are blown?
If you need help troubleshooting, I'd need a photo of the inside of the amplifier.
