Power Issue

Hi...my Miele vacuum cleaner (S314) will not turn on, unless I lean it on its side (the side that the power switch is on). I took it apart and the wires are all well attached, and I do not see any issues with the connectors. Is this a common problem with an easy fix?

Thanks!
Todd

My Miele vacuum cleaner (S314) wont turn on either. Have taken it apart, and trying to diagnose the problem. No burnt marks to indicate overheating. Will look at the cord reel contacts and see if they can be cleaned or bent to make better contacts.

Called tech support at Miele, and was told to look between the cord reel and the board, and if it wasn't there, to look at the board. The board only looks like it is 3" x 3". No solution yet. Dave

Could be the cord reel causing the problem. Sometimes the contacks on the inside of the reel loose contact and won't conduct. If this is the problem, then you will have to replace the reel cord asm. Part # 06777540, may cost about $150 approx.
