#1. Is it possible to make videos with the camera connected to my computer, so I can use my monitor screen to view what I'm filming instead of the camera's screen?
#2. Is it possible to view pictures or videos on my tv?
Many thanks.

- Wow, a yes to both questions. How often does that happen? ;^)
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Now, hopefully, a digital dork like meself will be able to pull this off. Gotta try.
Cheers, tOOnz :^)
#1. Yes, if you've correctly installed the Canon solutions disk that came with your camera. Look in your Start menu under Programs/Canon Utilities. Look for a specific program in that folder called "RemoteCapture"
2. Yes again. You'll need an Audio/Video (A/V) cable to do such. One came with your camera (remember the black cable with the yellow plug). Plug one end into the "A/V Out" port on your camera, and the other end into the "A/V Input" on your TV. Put your camera in review or slideshow mode and view it.
- Ooops, I must correct the above. It's been a while since I've used RemoteCapture, and I just gave it a try. It seems that RemoteCapture only allows you to take images using your computer, but not video. Sorry that I got your hopes up.

Everything functions normal with the camera except it won't zoom. The lens extends half way out upon turning on and retracts when shutting off.
