You could try using the first time set-up option and see if that resets it. If you don't have the owners manual it can be found at the following link.
http://www.p4c.philips.com/na4/9/9p6034c/9p6034c_dfu_aen.pdf

There are detailed instructions on how to set the convergence in the manual on page 8.

SOURCE: How do you reset to mfg settings or set red/blue convergence?

I purchased mine about 5 months ago. Ive been researching and playing around with the remote. This will help you on the way. With the set off, press "Mute", 1, 8, 2 then turn the tv on. This will bring up the main settings, dont change any values on any page, unless you write the origonal values down first, because the total reset doesnt return everything to a "factory" preset. Scroll down to reset and press the enter key. I havent come across any owners or service manuals, and support is slim to none. I wrote a review for the same model on a wal-mart site I believe, and it explains adjustments in more detail. If you want to try to figure out the buttons for yourself, while the tv is on, press "Mute 1, 8, 3" this is another set of adjustments for finer detail. If you change an adjustment here and your not sure, just press the exit button. To save your adjustments in the convergence mode, press and hold the enter button, it should flash a few times and center itself on the screen. If you make a mistake in this mode, the total reset I mentioned first should get you back on track. If you find anything out or have a question, feel free to write me at Silverado1st@aol.com

Convergence does not fix picture picture is warped

Below are two of the most common problems encountered with projection TV sets.

Problem #1 - CONVERGENCE PROBLEM

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

This is a very common failure on Projection TV sets and a fairly simple DIY fix.

Common Symptoms include....
  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
  • TV shuts off after powering on - TV may also make a chirping noise.
Here are some photos of convergence problems.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the settings menu then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move RED and BLUE in all directions - up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions or cant move them far enough your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

Note: If you TV has as flash focus or magic focus button only try pressing the button. If it fails to fix the convergence your need to fix it. See below for a solution

47a7bc4.pngCONVERGENCE SOLUTION

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses.

This is a a fairly easy DIY job if you know what you are doing. If you have never done this before we would advise calling a shop or if you want to do it yourself get a complete kit with instructions and support from TvRepairKits.com

Their kits include a step by step instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, thermal paste, email/phone support, etc.

Problem #2 CRT Fluid is Cloudy

Projection tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around video.

Pic of a set that needs the fluid changed. Notice how dull the colors are and how white the screen looks. The screen may also look red, orange, dull, etc.

Set after fluid change. Notice how bright the colors are now. Everthing looks crisp and sharp again.

My phillips model 60pp920217f has a horrible picture...no green to the color

The green CRT coolant has congealed thats whats giving you the green halos. Change the coolant in the green and blue and your set will be fine. red is never affected so the red coolant should be fine.

Aadjusting screen colors

They should be adjusted to set voltages. however it is best to shut the color level to the lowest setting then try t balance the screens to achieve the best black and white picture. then turn up your color level. Your brightness level should also be set to 50 % then when you adjust for the best B&W picture. You will have better color and brightness when you reset your color and brightness levels. Hope this helps.

Picture has gotten darker

use the advanced options page and reset the factor blue and red convergence defaults then do re apply the auto color defaults color at first it seemed very red (which is good because red was the missing factor in the green picture) but after reseting all the color and tints to the normal ranges I then reset the color auto correct again and all seems fine.
