My max memory card will not work in slot one

My memory card wont work in slot one but works in slot 2 whats the problem

The fact that you got it to work at all is a miracle, newer models of the PS2 have the ability to block the use of memcards bigger than 8mb (sony only makes 8mb ones).
It's one of the newer features sony put in, like the lack of usb keyboard support and the inability to use some of the non-sony controllers.

The IXY 70 works with MMC and SD cards, which max out at 2GB. While larger-capacity SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they will not work in the camera.

You can upgrade it to 2GB (MAX) if icon_detail.gifMemory Type: DDR2 PC2-5300, DDR2 (non-ECC)
Maximum Memory: 2GB
Slots: 2
Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 1GB per slot.

Hey Richard, your board has 2 x 184 DIMM slots, that are both usable, with a maximum capacity of 2GB, supported RAM types are 333MHz, and 266MHz..

Wont boot 2 windows xp home when 2 gig memory installed,works with 1 gig,tried both slots with both 1 gig sticks.Screen goes black.

Seems the memory is not comatable with the motherboard. Replace the old memory and visit http://www.crucial.com, they have a scanner tool which will confirm what mem can be installed.

Looks like your motherboard is a MSI KM4AM-L detailed here:

If so, then it has an AGP slot which will run at 4x and 8x.

Remember to check the BIOS settings after you install it to make sure it is set to 8x, if that is what your card will take.
