A few times when using my Treo 755p to connect to a NPR radio podcast stream via the Kinoma Player 4 EX upgrade the screen comes back dim when I press the power button. First I activate the podcast stream and begin listening and after 30 secs the screen dims normally based on my power settings. I continue listening for an hour perhaps and when I try to power up the screen again the brightness comes up dim, I can see the screen but the brightness is very dim.
After a few minutes it comes back up normally without a soft boot. I believe the battery gets very hot as well. Am I doing anything wrong? Is this something that happens with the device normally? Please help!

To fix the dim brightness level, remove the battery and pull the plug out of the mains power. Leave it disconnected for at least 5 minutes then plug it back into mains power. You should find the brightness has retuned to normal. I have 3 of these Clock Radios and the picture attached shows the comparison between dim and normal. For some unknown reason they intermittently decide to dim themselves. This may be why Sony included a dimmer in the next model up ICF-C318. Anyway I hope this helps

Personally 10 to 15 minutes is not normal, I have had my 755p battery get hot after a couple of hours of straight talking, but not right away.
I would just take it back where you got it and tell them the problem that you are having and get another Treo. I have owned all of the Treo's ever made and they make great phones.
It does take some getting used to but the pros vs the cons of owning a Treo are much greater. Blackberry has come along way with their phones and if you are used to the Blackberry then the Treo just might not be the phone for you.
To get back to your question if the phone getting hot is normal, no, but it will happen from time to time when talking on the phone for long periods of time.
try doing a hard reset just make sure you hotsync first so you can backup all your information. Always keep in mind the software you have loaded write it down and the website you got them from along with any registration codes. when doing a hard reset you will lose all the information and programs on the phone basically it will take you back to the way you first bought it.
