Go through all the source signals ie., cable, satelite, VCR, DVD, etc., to isolate if it is the TV or the source signal. If you get the same vertical line after going through all the sources, then see if there is a software upgrade that you can install. If not, then your TV screen is fu.k.d. up for sure.
Take the thing back to the store if your within your 30 day window. Call the manufacturer if your within your 1 year window.

My television went out a year after i bought it, the tv would come on, but after about 6-10 seconds, the display and sound would cut out. power cycle the tv and it would come back on for another 6-10 secs then go back out. The power to the TV does not go out, only the display and sound. I could change channels, and the TV would take the input, but now the display/sound is always dead, no matter how many times i power cycle the tv. What might cause this?

while installing npg cable to a new hdtv flat screen the coaxial cable arched with the back of the tv. causing the cable to melt. a standard def tv works just fine. the hdtv was working with the ps3 prior to cable being installed. the tv and the ps3 are now burned out as a result. any ideas???
