I have installed new ink cartridges and am still getting reinstall ink cartridge message... grrrr, I've done everything I've read on here to do... opened the cover, taken out the cartridges and reinstalled them.. unplugged the machine and waited over 10 seconds and tried over and over but still keep getting either black ink empty or reinstall message... I've read on other sites that Brother seems to have a lot of problems like this... even ran across one where people put black electrical tape over the cartridges to fool the machine cause they tend to say they are out of ink when they arent. I really like the machine other than this problem but it's very frustrating not bein able to print!!
First make sure that you are using Brother Cartridges, their machines are very sensitive to using generic ink. Put a brand new set of ink in the machine. Pull all the old cartridges out and put all new cartridges in. If this does not resolve the issue contact Brother, they are very good about helping their customers.
