Question about Garmin StreetPilot c550 GPS Receiver
I have just received a Nuvi 200 for Christmas. If I mis-key my PIN it locks me right out and gives me no further tries. I have to wait until I get back home to re-use it again.
How many tries is it supposed to allow you. Even the most secure web sites allow you a couple tries before they lock you out.
Oddly Garnin doesn't know the answer to this. None of the "Techs" I have spoken to were sure what the answer was - this to say the least is most disconcerting.
Any one out there have a clue as to how it's supposed to act.
I've tested two Nuiv 200 (one a little older) units and both units
work the same. Put in a bad code and the "Invalid Pin" message comes up for 15 seconds and then the Pin input screen comes back for another try. Endless retry on both units..

The unit does only allow you ONE attempt at the PIN before it locks you out. However, you should be able to turn the unit off for a minute or two and turn it back on to try again. I have a Street Pilot C550 and it does the same exact thing.
