My pc on vista cannot connect to lexmark x1270. after sending pc back to manufact settings. originally had a link which made it work .but lost it .

Go to Lexmark x1270 Support and click on the Downloads tab. Available software is listed. You will need to know what Operating System you use. Select the correct Download Now link.

I suggest that when the download window opens you select Save and direct it to save the file to your Desktop. That way it will be there if you need it again, or you can copy it to a CD also.

Prepare your printer: Ink, paper, etc.Connect the USB cable. (If you get any New Hardware Found windows just Cancel them.) Then, double-click the file on your desktop that you downloaded. That will install your printer driver and software. You should be good to go then.

It will install all software for your lexmark as well as the most recent driver updates for it. I also recommend that you download and save the file to disk for later in case they remove this installer any time later. Good luck

If this link works download the Vista drivers, maybe update your firmware. But start with the driver first.
If that link doesnt work. go to lexmark.com then , drivers and downloads, select download a driver, enter x1270 into the search and it will get you where you need. But try this link first, it should take you directly to the page you need.

black intcartirage(color 17) wont print but color prints perfectly

The only way to setup the printer without the proper drivers would be to use windows add new printer. However windows does not have lexmark x1270 listed. You can dlownload the software from lexmark & install the software / drivers without using the cd.

Attention Windows Vista Users
If you have installed your printer on your PC using an original Lexmark Driver CD that came with your product and you are experiencing problems when printing, you may have installed the Windows XP driver.

Follow these steps to resolve:
· Disconnect your USB cable from your printer.
· Uninstall all Lexmark printer drivers on your PC.
· Download the correct Vista driver for your model.
· Install the driver on your PC.

Important - Do not reconnect the USB cable until the install software prompts the question of how the printer is connected. Comment by Soulvisitor, I think I see whats stopping you

Quickly within a sec, when the small box opens click on cj2470 link in Right hand corner, mine seems to freeze up, and not allow download, if I let box open and click tab on top to download.
