Hi Naveen, You must have at least a black cartridge fitted for the printer to allow any use at all. If no cartridges are fitted, then the printer will not operate. You can fit an old cartridge and then switch on, the printer will tell you that the cartridge is empty but you should now be able to access the scan functions using the buttons on the printer or the options in the printer software. You may even need to update the printer drivers before use if there is an update available. If the printer is not showing in control panel, then re-install the printer from scratch. If a black cartridge is installed but you are still unable to access the printer/scanner functions, the printer may have a logic error, and you will need to return it to the manufacturer for service.
