Everytime, even if I use the software to attempt move, I try to copy and/or move my files from the camcorder harddrive the connection is lost. It begins to transfer files, and indeed I have about 4 short clips that are available on my desktop. It almost appears as if the camcorder harddrive times out. I lose all folder structure to the camcorder harddrive in my explorer window and I have to disconnect/shut off and reconnect/turn on my camera, but it only lasts for about 3-5 minutes at best.
I am connecting to Windows XP w/Media Center and do have the external power cord plugged in so as to not attempt the transfer on battery power.
Any ideas?
Yes even though it doesn't make sense, the only thing that was found when I brought mine in was that the Battery was corrupted. JVC even after having it in the shop and NUMEROUS calls to customer service. They could not reproduce this problem. Until they brought me to the back to the tech and realized the only thing different was that the battery pack was not in. For some reason the battery pack was corrupted and was causing this issue. I say if you have time on your warranty bring it back and buy a new camera. This will keep happening to the battery packs and JVC will want you to keep buying new batteries. As well as start charging 90 dollars an hour even in warranty to fix it. They kept trying to hold on to it longer and longer till the warranty just ran out.
