I have an MMP8565. I want to delete some songs off of it, but when i plug it into the computer, it recognizes the device, but shows there are no songs/files on the device. When i try to click on sync, it says it can't sync at this time. All i want to do is look at my list of songs and delete some off, so i can add new ones.
I am wondering if i messed something up- yesterday, i downloaded 4 songs from Itunes onto a disc and then loaded the songs onto my mediaplayer and synced it to my MP3. They transferred over, and play just fine. Except now i have the above problem. Any ideas how to fix this??
I had a problem like that once all you have to do is format your mp3 player go into media player under the sync tab and click format only problem is that you have to put all your songs back on it again

You will not be able to delete songs via the WMP. Click on your start button (Windows Logo) and then click on "computer", and then you should see your player listed there if your computer is recognizing it. If not, unplug the device and plug it back in. Then you can double click on the device to get to the device memory and you can delete songs from the media folder, usually named "Music".
Im not sure if this will help... but i think most MP3's delete songs this way... Plug in the MP3 using the USB and go to 'my computer'. Click on the MP3 icon and then click on the files... simply delete them by using the delete button.
Delete all the songs on your device and transfer them back..You could have a corruption in your databasse... To delete songs from your device follow the steps below You have to make sure that the device is on MSC mode...then make sure your device is plug in to the computer..Then go to programs - accesories - windows explorer, find the SanDisk in my computer, go to media, music and delete them from there. Either under sync panel in your windows media player it will show your music when it's connected. just click the plus signs for what song you need to get rid of, right click and click delete. To
format it..on your device..go under..menu, setting and there should be
a format option option there..let me know if that doenst work for you... Hope this helps
I had this same problem. What I ended up doing was going into My Computer into the device itself and seeing what showed up. It appears a few new songs I popped on there the day after were appearing but nothing else. I deleted all the files, unplugged it from the computer and let the library update, old songs were still playing. Plugged it back into the machine and voila they showed up.
Ok, try this
Go to Windows Media Player and connect your MP3. Then when you do that wait until it says Digital Audio Player on the left hand side. Click songs and then right clickthe songs and delete them.
You all are not all having the same issue at all. The vast majority of you have loaded songs that are the wrong format into the player, which is why they aren't recognized once you disconnect from the PC. You should convert them to Mp3 format to avoid having this problem in the future.
