I'm having a problem with my NETGEAR WGT624v3 router. I have it connected through a SPEEDSTREAM 4200 modem and have experienced no problem with the internet connection. However, after approx. 3 to 4 hours of wireless use, the wireless signal drops then reconnects for between 5-15 minutes before continuously dropping and reconnecting, forcing me to disconnect the router for about an hour. Repeat process. I've updated the firmware and its still occurs. Any ideas? Thanks.

- I was unable to access my modem at all. Could you describe the process in detail so that I can check potential mistakes I made?
yes set the speedstream modem to log in. it is uner advanced, usually 192.168.0.1 address. It is most likely set to "bridged" mode and using the router to login. set login to ppoe on speedstream on one p.c. only 1st. with login ang password filled in and "smart keep alive" on.
Is it the connection between the laptop/desktop and the router or it is the connection between the router and the modem that drops frequently? If it is the connection between the laptop and the router that is dropping too often, then there is something you can do in your network setting for wireless network. In a public network (which is usually unsecure) the connection drops frequently. If you
or only a few persons are the only user(s) of your router and your WLAN
is securely encrypted, then try changing the wireless settings of
your laptop to be in "private" network, which will solve your problem. The issue occurs when the type is "public".
