You will have to disconnect the web cam first. Then follow some simple steps to reset the video output on the PS3. I will post a link to a youtube video that will guide you thru the steps. HOW TO RESET HDMI Video PS3
okay you have to reset your ps3 tell your son to turn ps3 off then hit power button hold your finger on it till it shuts off then hit it again till it beeps twice make sure your tv is on and you HDMI is hooked uo properly it usually beeps twice about 5 to ten s4econds after you hold it a second time for the 2 beeps you have to be quick at this
is it the power cord i assume ? make sure the little flip power switch above the power cord is in on position. and u should have steady red light on front of ps3 when unit has power on. using a different power cord should not affect it but its not recommended . most ps3 uses a standard power cable.
I researched this problem since my twin 2 1/2 year old sons decided that my PS3 was hungry and needed a steady diet of 3 discs all at once. On a similar discussion board, someone discussed using butter knives to pinch the discs (one on top and one on bottom) and pull them out. This worked to perfection! Just be sure to pull the power cable from the back of your PS3 prior to sticking any objects (i.e. metal knives) into the front of it.
If you get no led lights, red lights or anything then it's likely that you need to replace the power supply. It's easy enough for the home user to do. If it's under warranty still then by all means use it. Otherwise open up the PS3 (you'll need a special T10 Security driver) I think you can get one from Radioshack but I'm not 100% sure. All the other screws are normal phillps. Then you'll see your power supply, it's the big square box on the left. Check to see which one you have and then match it up with a replacement one on ebay. They go for around $50 if I'm not mistaken. Make sure you get the same one you had before, they're not all the same.
Hi there, by the sounds of it you could have faulty fuses, Whether its inside the console itself or inside the Power adaptor its Uncertain. Before opening up Your PS3 i would suggest Checking the fuse in the power adaptor to make sure that is not fried. if it isnt. then it must be something to do with the power input to your PS3 Device. it could be either the Fuse or The transistors on the Power input Circuit. When you Pop open your PS3, Go straight to the back-end where the power input is located, and see if any of the fuses or transistors look fried, if they are. then that is where your fault lies !
