Try http://www.servicemanuals.net/

They are not free, but the amplifier service manuals I have purchased through the site have been very good.

Power supply output for Yamaha p4500 secondary output for the power supply so that i could check the voltage

Hi Joel, although we've sourced detailed schematic for this P4500 amplifier, there are no many voltage details on it for manufactures sake. Anyway, mine findings are. Secondary winding on main transformer should supply no less than 2 x 75 volts which makes after rectifying and filtration no less than 2 x 90 volts on capacitors with amplifier without input signal. Also transformer has to be very "hard" , otherwise amp will start clipping before reaching stated wattage on output.

Hi
when you change the part on the power supply did you check that the voltage is the same as it should be.
maybe there is no voltage to the protection unit in this case the Amp will not power on
if you want to fix the Amp let me know

Do a websearch for a competent repair shop in your region or ask the stereo folks where you got the amp.

Blowing fuzes

If the fuses blow before the remote voltage is applied, the power supply FETs or the reverse protection diode has likely failed.

Coustic 601se power on but bad sound

This is generally caused when there are blown output transistors but that generally causes the fuse to blow or causes the amp to go into protect mode.

If you connect a 15 amp fuse in series with the main power wire and it blows when remote voltage is applied, the amp is drawing excessive current. The problem could be either in the power supply or audio circuits.

Do NOT apply power without having the transistors clamped TIGHTLY to the heatsink. They can fail in seconds when there is a problem. The heatsink helps protect them.

Most of Pyramid's supplies are based on the LM723 voltage regulator. The DATASHEET should tell you most of what you'll need to know to repair it. THIS is the schematic diagram.

If the output voltage drives the voltmeter to the end of the scale, it likely has one or more shorted power transistors.
