I have read a couple of solutions and all are incompatible with my WRT300N, completely different. When you pry off the little rubber feet there is no screw under them. What I did find was the following:
The bottom blue panel snaps together with the bottom of the body. It has two large snap in lugs at the REAR of the panel about 1/2 from each side at the corner. Carefully pry up the back corner until it snaps loose. Do the same for the other back corner. Then slide the panel to the rear to unhook two small catches in the front of the panel. Then remove the panel.

You will now see 4 screws. These are security torx head screws and require a T-10 bit. Remove those and the rest is a cakewalk to take apart.

How to put to secure my linksys wrt300n router?

First, you'll need to log into the Router, do this with a cable.
Second, you will need to enable WPA, if that doesn't work, use WEP. This is the support page for your Router:
http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/support/WRT300N

Read the FAQ related to your internet connection type, read through it all. It will have links to setting up the wireless connection and wireless encryption.

This link is probably what you will eventually find yourself, but the above link starts you from the beginning of the process just in case something is not setup right.

You'll need to pick a long hard to guess password, use letters and numbers. Oh, and you'll also need to choose a password for the login of the Router itself. Once you choose your passwords, write them down and keep them with your router. Normally I tape the passwords to my Router. Just be sure not to cover any vent holes.

Need the driver for Linksys WRT300N V1 ... can't find the CD

Hi,

The LINKSYS WRT300N is a standalone device, there are no software/driver needed on your PC for the router to work. However, there is an easy Setup Wizard that is in the CD that normally comes with the unit.

Unfortunately, Linksys did not make the specific Setup Wizard (Version 1.3) for the WRT300N available online. However, if you care to try the Setup Wizard for a WRT54GC, it may downloaded from the LINKSYS ftp site here. I used to have a WRT54G and I did make use of the Setup Wizard for that model. I upgraded to WRT300N. The setup wizard for the old WRT54G worked likewise on the new WRT300N.

Alternately, the WRT300N can still be configured without the CD or the Setup Wizard by logging into the Configuration Page (192.168.1.1). Remember to use LAN interface when setting the router (as shown in the connection diagram) and set your PC to an IP Address of 192.168.1.2, Subnet Mask of 255.255.255.0; Follow on screen instructions and enter settings/configurations manually.

Hope that this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information. Additionally, if you still prefer to have a copy of the original WRT300N Setup Wizard, pls include your email address that I may send it to you as an attachment.

Good luck and kind regards.
