I want to replace the old mercury termostat with new honeywell RTH2300B. I have only 2 wires. should I use W and R, is there any difference as which wire connect to R, which to W? I found that RTH2300B is not listed on honeywell website, is this a outdated model, I bought it today at HD.

I have a Honeywell RTH 6300B. It was working fine, but now I can't get the air conditioning to come on after the heater has been on. I can hear the chiller (?) above my bathtub trying to start up and the space gets cold, but no air blows out of the vents. I finally figured out that if I shut everything off/on at the breaker box the air conditioning seems to self-correct and will come on and cold air will blow, but I'm wondering if I have a defective thermostat? I have no problem switching it to heating after that. Is this something wrong with my electrical, or cooling system? Soon enough the weather will decide it is summer and I won't have to worry about going between heating and cooling, but this is still annoying. Help please.
