My Ipod touch 16G first generation. wont respond

My Ipod touch 16G first generation. wont respond to my touch even to turn it off. its at the screen where it says slide to unlock and it wont respond to my touch.i havent dropped it and its in excellent condition.

1. Plug the iPod into the primary computer linked to that iPod, the first computer you synchronized it with unless you have designated another computer as the primary computer.
2. Open iTunes and sync the iPod as normal.
3. Remove the iPod, following the normal removal procedure. The iPod unlocks automatically as you remove it.

You most likely have a broken digitizer. You can try to replace the part yourself, it is available on any auction website. There are also iPod touch Repair services that can fix it for you, but if you're a little tech savy you should use an iPod touch repair guide that teaches you how to do the repair yourself.

It could be or the cheap fix if it is not the digitizer is push really hard right around the center button on the left bottom. Sometimes it is a bad connection if it gets jarred.
