Thats weird, they use flash memory so it shouldn't heat up...but you obviously have an internal electrical problem so I say bring it back or get it repaired.

When i connect my Sansa player to my computer it freezes up and does not find the hardware. Also, i have another Sansa and this one does not run on a changeable battery. You are suppose to connect it to...

Similar thing happened to me. I turned on Windows Task Manager to see what was using all the processing power. It was "services.exe" looking for a Sansa driver. Since this was an older Dell with USB1, it took about 5 minutes of chugging before it had the driver loaded. It seemed to be locked up during this time, but I could see the CPU was running as hard as it could.

My sansa wont turn on, I took out battery to reset and blue ring

Try resetting your firmware via Sandisk's support site. If it still doesn't work, your sansa's mainboard might be busted. The cost of replacing it will be more than a refurbished one (under $40 online).

Sansa went "dead"

Try holding the power button down for at least 10 to 15 seconds. That should turn it off. Turn it back on. If this doesn't work, try taking the battery out for a few seconds. If it still comes up with only the blue ring on, called Sandisk tech support to try to get an RMA. The number for sandisk is 1-866-726-3475
