Question about Konica Minolta magicolor 2300DL Laser Printer

Media Jam Fuser

Before this happened I was getting another error message about media transfer error. Can anyone help without sending this machine to the shop?

    Please let me know if you can help. I have been having to manipulate even a single page to feed it in the printer also. Now with this problem, it is getting impossible to trick even a single page to print.

    Thanks Larry,

    I have been advised by a repair shop that my transfer belt is gone because that is the error that I am getting now and that I am better off to go buy a new printer. The belt apparently costs $250 and I could buy a new laser printer for that. I am so disheartened because the printer is only 2 years old and it is a big heavy piece of machinery. You know how much the cartridges alone for this printer cost and I probably have quite a bit left in there. When I first try to print, I get 2 or 3 media jam errors, I then open and close front door and then back/side door. There is no jam the first two times then the third time is a piece of paper that stops as it is first sent in. I remove it and close the back/side door and then it will print. All but the first page prints and it is always folded over at top. This is all due to the transfer belt I think being bad. ANY IDEAS? I hate to give up.

    I will suggest this to the repair person who told me to buy a new printer and see if he is game for examining the rollers. All I can lose is $75/hour.

It is true that the paper feed rollers above the paper tray usually is the problem. Lacquer thinner is a bit to harsh on the rollers and it will melt plastic, I would use 409 on them instead, if that doesn't work check your cassette and make sure the paper is not hitting anything as it tries to feed. If it still doesn't work use your bypass tray and try and feed it, if that works order new feed rollers for the paper tray.

I got that error turning off the machine in the middle of printing, opened the door to back, unlashed the 2 green tabs to the final heat roller towards the top and there was my page. i gently pulled it out error gone.
but in your case sounds like the paper is having a hard time feeding through all your rollers or the first one... in that case it has to torn down to the first roller and inspected for paper pieces , what ever, and I clean the rollers with laquer thinner rubbing hard on the black rubber until that high gloss is gone.

This error is associated with either a sheet of paper blocking the paper path or a partial piece of paper that blocks path or trips a sensor. The printer will usually throw up a error code 13.XX on the display and the XX is a number that will indicate where in the paper path this error most probably occurred. Just follow the steps for your error on the below chart.

If the message persists after all jams have been cleared, a sensor or sensor lever might be stuck or broken. For all jam messages, do the following: 1. Remove jammed print media from the specified location. Check the entire paper path for other pieces of media in the path. 2. Open and close the top cover to clear the message. 3. Check sensors and flags in the paper path for proper operation. 3.0 PAPER JAM [LOCATION] A non-specific paper jam occurred. 1. Remove jammed media from the specified location. 2. Verify the paper tray is fully closed. 3. Inspect and/or replace the feed and separation rollers. 4. Ensure there is no obstruction in the path, such as a torn piece of paper. 5. Open and close the top cover to clear the message. 6. Check sensors and flags for proper operation. 13.1 PAPER JAM OPEN INPUT TRAYS Paper-delay jam at paperfeed area. 1. This error is caused by a defective paper control PCA Replace paper control PCA. 13.2 PAPER JAM OPEN INPUT TRAYS Paper-stopped jam at paper-feed area. 1. Check the input area for obstructions such as paper in the path. Also check to see if the registration assembly is damaged or if the transfer roller is out of place. 2. 202 paperjam open rear door. My printer did have a paper jam and we removed all the paper we could find, but that message won't go away and it hasn't worked since! HELP!


Hello and Welcome to FixYa

Start by following the steps below to get the paper out from the machine.
  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
  3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
  4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
  5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
  6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
  7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
  8. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
  9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
  10. see alternative if the problem is still not solved.



alternative :
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.



Advanced

If that doesn't help then you would have to start taking apart the machine to find the jammed paper and remove it, its not something a just anyone should do unless you have experience.

you may have to take the machine to a repairer to get the jammed paper bits out of the machine, if you don't see paper jammed in the machine it does not mean that there wouldn't be a paper jam somewhere in the unit along the paper path. Some of the switches or sensors might have gotten stuck.

Media jam fuser


I turned the printer off, took the power cable out, and turned the printer on. After 60 seconds I turned the printer off, put the power cable back in and turned the printer again on. This is a solution in order to loose all the voltage/current build up in the printer. Whether this is the solution or just coincidental, I don't know. The printer worked well after that.

What is media jam fuser error


It means there is a paper jam in the fuser (the hot part that fixes the toner to the paper).
Check if there is any sheet jammed inside your printer or if any sensor is in the wrong position.
If everything seems to be ok, you may need to replace the fuser.

if the paper comes out and you get still this message, then probably you have a wrong paper format or fusing unit solenoid is stuck.

Media jam transfer roller


We have a Xerox 6120 which is mechanically identical to the 2430. It was reporting media jams. We determined after removal and careful inspection that the fuser roller and fuser pressure roller had been damaged by what looked like someone attempting to clear a jam with a sharp object. I cannot speak re: the 2430, but the fuser in the 6120 is not a FRU. The construction of the fuser doesn't tolerate any flaws on either surface. There was more paper jammed in the fuser where we couldn't see it until we had the fuser out of the printer. We are shopping for a new printer as the repairs will cost more than we paid for the printer.
