Question about Protron PDV-288 7" LCD Portable DVD Player
My 3-year old loves to watch DVDs on the portable player alot. Today, without any warning, the player started to turn on and off by itself for a few minutes before it finally went completely dead. It was plugged into the wall adapter, so we thought it was the cord at first, but I tried it with the car adapter and it still wouldn't work. The battery also will not charge, and there is a distinct electrical "burnt" smell coming from the DC input jack. What do you think? We bought the player second-hand at a garage sale about three months ago and it has worked great until now. We would really like to get it fixed. What are our options? Please advise. Thanks.
Very possibley time for an upgrade to a new player, as repair rates could very well negate any viable return on this unit...accordianman
