After I switch the camera to ON, in the automatic setting, I click the button, but the camera does nothing. Meanwhile, the screen is flashing *busy*.

try and remove the memory card, it may require formatting due to damage... if that's not it i'm not too sure what would cause that besides possibly bad firmware which i'm sure you can download and reinstall using your pc and a USB cable
